The Blockchain Bootcamp is our comprehensive 5-Day internal training program conducted from 20 to 24 March 2024 to help students dive into the technologies behind web3. The purpose is to give everyone in the club, regardless of their prior knowledge, a good overview of all the relevant topics in web3 and the necessary foundation to dive deeper into specific areas on their own.

Our curriculum draws inspiration from the popular CS251 and BBSE courses and covers various topics. Over five days, we explore:

• Cryptographic Fundamentals, Blockchains, and Proof of Work in Bitcoin
• Proof of Stake, Ethereum, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), and Smart Contract Basics
• Advanced Solidity Patterns, Stable Coins, Lending Protocols, DeXs, and MEV
• Introduction to SNARKs and Circuit Programming with Noir
• Scaling, Rollups, and Data Availability

Each day consists of two 90 minute lectures followed by a 60 minute exercise session to solidify the contents discussed. This boot camp aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of all technical aspects of web3 in an accelerated timeframe. At the same time, it serves should prepare students for the upcoming Applied Cryptography for Decentralized Systems lecture we organized in collaboration with TUM’s Chair of Network Architectures and Services in the summer term (S24).
