Project Details
Ambitious students will have the unique opportunity to set up a dedicated blockchain testing infrastructure for Staking Facilities in a top-tier Munich data center. This hands-on initiative involves configuring and deploying high-performance hardware, optimizing network setups, and testing blockchain environments. Participants will be responsible for setting up and configuring servers, networking equipment, and virtualization environments to establish a robust and reliable blockchain testing cluster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport and install existing 2U servers in the data center
- Mount and wire servers, switches, and routers, ensuring proper documentation
- Configure networking, including VLANs, L3 routing, and switch management via CLI
- Install and test the Proxmox hypervisor for blockchain VM deployments
How to Prepare:
- Familiarize yourself with Linux, Proxmox, and basic networking concepts
- Review VLANs, network diagrams, and server management practices
- Join the project’s discussion group to align on setup details
Required Hard Skills:
- Experience with Linux server management
- Networking knowledge (VLANs, L3 routing, switch configuration via CLI)
- Familiarity with hypervisors (Proxmox experience is a plus)
- Understanding of remote server management tools (ILO/iDRAC)
Required Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and initiative-taking mindset
- Ability to work independently and document processes thoroughly
- Proactive communication with team members and mentors
